The magic of words really came to life when I read to my daughter's classes K through 5 in the Silver Lake Elementary School library. I knew by the written words on the pages and the way the stories were presented either lost the children to a daydream in the first few pages or captivated them to the last word.  Those six years of volunteer work proved to be the most valuable learning tool I needed to prepare me for what I was about to do.

And then came the middle school years, where my skills were no longer needed, but the desire to share a part of me became even stronger.  So I prayed.  And I asked God to use me, use my talents in a way that would glorify His name.  He gave me my first novel, "The Well".

The hardest part about writing a book for me is the ending.  But by God's design, He led me gracefully to the ending of "The Well", which was also the beginning of the sequel, "Rachel's Journey".   But the journey was not to end there.  The trilogy, “Jack” was born...and together depicted how God creatively worked in the lives of three young people to accomplish His will, the power of true friendship, and how hope and faith brought them through the tragedies that God allowed in their lives.

The most exciting part of this whole journey is not knowing where it will lead me next or how it will end.  God is the only One who knows that for sure.  For it is only by His grace that I have the wisdom to choose the right path to follow, the courage to take yet another step, and the assurance of never having to travel alone.

I am blessed to be able to take the hand of the Author of my life as He gently leads me down the path He has chosen for me, and I am grateful for those He has allowed to walk with me along my journey.

I’ve been married to Joe for 28 smooth, swift years.  He is very supportive of anything I choose to pursue, including my writing or job decisions.  Team work is the success of our marriage and raising our daughter, Christy.  Balance is the key...what one may lack, the other provides.

Christy has blossomed into a beautiful young woman, full of creativity, curiosity, and hates to be bored. She has proudly achieved a BA in Interior Design and Masters of Architecture from Kent State University.  What a wonderful life she leads with endless opportunities to make a beautiful difference in this world, one building at a time!

Christy was my inspiration for "Nicci" in The Well, and she graces the front cover of Rachel's Journey”.

Cloe was a cherished member of our family for 16 years.

She loved pasta, cheese, and unzipping purses to obtain gum and mints and anything chocolate.

In her younger years, she loved to frolic in the snow and swim in the pool with Christy.

Now when I see a swirl in the clouds, I know she causing havoc in the heavens while doing her Bichon Buzz.

  Rest in Peace, little one.

MY FAVORITE VERSES:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith

-and this is not from yourselves.  It is a gift from God -

not by works, so that no one can boast.

For we are God's workmanship,

created in Christ Jesus to do good works,

which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of

what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

I can do anything through Him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13
